THE TERRITORY
The territory of San Giovanni extends across a plain
on the outskirts, south of Naples. You can easily get there by taking either the
Napoli-Salerno motorway or the road alongside the port of Naples, travelling
south. On the left-hand side you can see Carmine's church, Piazza Mercato and
the Loreto area.

San Giovanni's southern boundaries on Corso San Giovanni are via Lagno, known also as "Croce del Lagno" and via Pietrarsa. San Giovanni is still considered to be an industrial district, even though its economy has been changing for some decades. In fact, in the near future there are plans to build a university centre, a commercial centre and facilities that promote nautical tourism.
